Blue Lake Dam

When Michael and I moved to Sitka 3 years ago we drove up to Blue Lake to check it out. It was going to be closed to the public soon so they could expand the dam and we wanted to see it before it closed. There is a nice camp ground on the way but we never got to camp. Nor would we want to having a nice bed to sleep in only 4 miles away, and possible bears wandering around. LOL  So last weekend we decided to hike up there and check it out. The wind was blowing about 25 mph and at times it was actually pushing us on our way. Made it to the Lake in about 1 1/2 hours and the wind was so bad with no protection we stayed long enough to look and take a couple of pictures. Looking forward to the road being back open for vehicles as we can only imagine what the fishing will be like after 3 years of the trout in the lake having no human contact. Must be monsters by now! Can't wait to go back on a warm sunny day!
Possibly a small landslide
